Is surgery the best option?
Inevitably, the day comes. Our ENT physician explains that drugs are no longer effective and we should now consider surgery. ENT physicians will propose surgery for quantitative reasons-- when we have too many outbreaks that require steroids that can have severe side effects. They will also recommend surgery for subjective reasons-- when we complain too much about breathing difficulties and general fatigue.

As nasal polyps patients, we have high expectations for our physicians. Some are clear and justifiable, others not as much. It is necessary to clarify these assumptions in order to understand better what we should expect not only from physicians but also from ourselves.

These nasal sprays offer incredibly fast relief. Our airways open up in a minute; a simple spray and we can breathe better than ever before! The comfort that nasal decongestants bring is so intense that it can be tempting to use these drugs more than we should. But these drugs come with a warning
Have Nasal polyps?
In the case of nasal polyps, there is no daily pill that dissipates all symptoms until the next morning. Unless we effectively manage nasal polyps, they can be present day and night, every day, and cause problems that significantly affect our quality of life.
